SPACE FOR MUSIC
DMEXCO, Cologne

In keeping with the brand rebranding, the music streaming service Spotify was given a new face at DMEXCO 2015. The result is a stand architecture that places strict geometric shapes in exciting references and thus presents a powerful and complex volume. The striking ensemble is thereby determined by only two basic colors and a few materials, which in their interaction achieve a strongly graphic effect. The result is an extremely clear space that simultaneously conveys diversity, a built platform for the diversity of music: the world of Spotify.

The formal language of the architecture is a spatial continuation of the burst, the graphic design element that Spotify uses in its print campaigns or as a central element of its CI. This was not simply applied to the space, but was further developed in the third dimension and made tangible.

Dynamic and calming shapes contrast and work in their contrasts, they are deliberately used to achieve certain effects. Here, the triangulated burst, the triangle, sets the tone. It draws visitors into the booth, provides zoning, creates optical depths and perspective-graphic spatial effects.
